2026 World Rowing Championships: Filippi results in Amsterdam

2026 World Rowing Championships: a historic result for Filippi in Amsterdam

24-30 Aug 2026, Amsterdam (NED)

The 2026 World Rowing Championships, held from 24 to 30 August on the Bosbaan in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, ended with an unprecedented result for Filippi.

On the Dutch race course, 255 Filippi boats lined up at the start, representing 72.9% of the total fleet entered. This remarkable presence was matched by the final results: 48 medals overall, including 17 gold, 14 silver and 17 bronze. That is ten more medals than the 38 won at the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai.

17 world titles in Filippi boats

The Amsterdam results are particularly meaningful when looking ahead to the Los Angeles 2028 programme. Crews racing in Filippi boats won 10 world titles in Olympic boat classes and 2 world titles in Paralympic boat classes that will be contested at the next Games.

The victories came with a broad and high-level international spread. Romania won gold in the women’s pair, women’s eight and mixed eight; the United States claimed the men’s four, women’s four and PR3 mixed coxed four; Italy took gold in the men’s quadruple sculls; Ireland won the women’s double sculls; Great Britain claimed both the women’s single sculls and the PR1 men’s single sculls; New Zealand won the men’s pair; Ukraine took gold in the PR1 women’s single sculls; Uzbekistan and Mexico won the men’s and women’s lightweight double sculls respectively; and the host nation, the Netherlands, stood on the top step of the podium in the women’s quadruple sculls, men’s double sculls and mixed double sculls.

A growing global presence

Our constant pursuit of innovation and perfection comes from a clear belief: there is always more to do to meet the expectations of athletes and coaches.

In Amsterdam, the geographical spread of medals won in Filippi boats confirmed the global penetration of our brand and the trust that an increasing number of nations continue to place in our hulls.

According to the Filippi philosophy, the day after a major result is already a new starting point. That is why our engineers have been working for months on optimising the hull lamination process. At the same time, thanks to a project focused on the use of Artificial Intelligence and developed with European academic partners, they are ready to redesign our models for the pre-Olympic season, which is already just around the corner.

Confirmation of the Performance configuration

From a technical perspective, the World Championships in Amsterdam confirmed the strength of the Performance project, launched before the Paris Olympic Games.

Performance boats continued to win medals at the highest level, both in the version with the Aliante rigger and in the new version with the monolithic front wing rigger. The new monolithic wing was chosen by many of the top sweep crews, especially in the men’s four and men’s eight.

These results confirm the value of a project designed to increase rigidity, stability and responsiveness, while preserving the control and feel required by elite athletes.

World best times and historic performances

From both a sporting and statistical point of view, Amsterdam also delivered performances that will remain part of rowing history. Among them were the world best time set by the United States women’s four, racing in an F52 Performance Aliante, and the world best time set by the United States PR3 mixed coxed four, racing in our F31 Performance Aliante.

These results confirm the role of our boats not only in reaching the podium, but also in helping athletes produce performances capable of redefining the limits of the sport.

Athletes who shaped a memorable World Championships

We are proud to have contributed, through our boats, to the success of extraordinary athletes who shaped a memorable World Championships.

Simona Radiș, Olympic champion in Paris, left Amsterdam as one of the defining figures of the entire event, winning three world titles in Filippi boats: the women’s pair, women’s eight and mixed eight.

Simon van Dorp also experienced a historic weekend in front of the home crowd, winning two world titles for the Netherlands in the men’s double sculls and mixed double sculls.

A special place also belongs to Lauren Henry, whose victory in the women’s single sculls gave Great Britain a world title it had never previously won in the history of the women’s World Championships. In a sport so deeply connected to British tradition, her achievement represents a historic moment.

The work continues

Amsterdam 2026 will remain a landmark in Filippi history: for the number of boats on the start line, for the quantity and quality of the medals won, for the variety of nations reaching the podium and for the technical confirmations received during the regatta.

We thank all athletes, coaches, teams and federations who chose to race with Filippi at the 2026 World Rowing Championships.

The result is historic. The work, as always, starts again from here.
