25-28 May 2023, Bled, SLO
A shower of medals from the European Championships in Bled (Slovenia): 41 totally.
13 golds, 13 silvers and 15 bronzes. But above all 33 of Olympic interest. The icing would have been a gold medal in the men's eight but for 5 hundredths Romania had to be satisfied with silver and the Netherlands with bronze for only 53 hundredths.
But Filippi boats confirmed one’s more their competitiveness with the rowing “flagship”, also with the women where Romania won easily the European title.
Therefore in Slovenia our shells won 65% of the medals among those available. Which is not far from the 68% of the Filippi boats enrolled to the race.
Further considerations come up from the analysis of the medal collection. In fact the 41 medals are distributed in 14 countries: Netherlands (10), Italy and Romania (6), France (4), Ukraine (3), Spain, Greece and Great Britain (2), Czech Republic, Croatia, Israel, Norway, Serbia and Lithuania 1 each.
Just Lithuania with the women's double, Italy with the men's double, Romania with the women’s four and above all The Netherlands with the men's single scull have written the most surprising chapters of this European Championships, undermining and even beating some of the giants of such specialties.
It is also a pleasure to appreciate the progress of the German crews with the Filippi boats. In fact they made excellent performances in the men's double (final B), women's double senior (5th in final A) and lightweight (final B).
